Melinda Hughes is an opera singer, Weimar specialist and political satirist. She has performed with her co-writer Jeremy Limb at numerous International Festivals, as well as on TV and BBC radio 4 with Barry Humphries. Her CD Smoke and Noise (Nimbus) won critical acclaim in The US and UK and her dramatic musical ‘Margo half woman, half beast’ about the Berlin Cabaret star Margo Lion received five star reviews at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe. Her second album Weimar and Back was released in 2018 and is available on the Nimbus Alliance label.
Melinda has taken her satirical cabaret show to The Metropolitan Room New York, Holders Festival Barbados, The Hay Festival, Government House Bermuda, Cadogan Hall London, Crazy Coqs Zedel, Canal Theatre Cafe and The Pheasantry London. Her new show ‘Off the Scale’ ran at the Assembly Rooms as part of the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe earning her a place in the FUNNY WOMEN finals for best show. Melinda has often teamed up with performers such as Rachel Parris, Alison Limerick, Philip Pope, Bounder & Cad and Lenny Beige.
Melinda and her co-writer Jeremy Limb often perform at parties and corporate events as well as private clubs such as The Arts Club Dover Street, The Chelsea Arts Club, The Scottish Arts Club, Bucks, The Savile Club and Boodles.
